Design
The black rugged plastic of finest shell with silver inserts on the perimeter of the lateral sides makes it clear that we have a business model that is not for those who are going to save on buying the phone. With slim-factor, two other dimensions are slightly higher than the average (108×49 mm), and a decent weight (107 g), even being in the pocket of the jacket, allows the mobile phone not to give you discomfort to the owner.
Thanks to the classic “monoblock” form-factor Sony Ericsson C902i is great for holding in hand, but it don’t have special soft-touch-coating to prevent scratches.
Back lid covering is made from metal, which is currently very fashionable.
Keyboard
The keyboard of Sony Ericsson C902i takes less than half of the total area of the front panel, it is supplemented by four office buttons and 4-position control with a central button to confirm.
Because of such disposition to control the phone in “blind” is almost impossible. All the buttons have a relief surface, which should theoretically prevent accidental pressing of the key next to it.
It should be mentioned that the space between the keys is very short, so the novelty is hardly suitable for people with large solid dimensions.

Display
TFT-panel with resolution of 240×320 pixels is not the biggest among the top models, but instead has a high image clarity and perfect color. Watching photos or even videos on a screen is a pleasure. You will be able to behold even the smallest details of the image.
Features
Interface connector of the C902i to PC is not located at the bottom of the shell, but on the left side, which is quite handy when you connect to the phone headphones of any company with D-shaped plug.
Computer automatically recognizes the phone with the two external drives, the memory of the relevant apparatus (160 MB) and the memory installed in Memory Stick Micro (M2) flash-card format. Additional software is not required, so the phone can be easily used as a flash card.
Memory card is located under the metal lid.
There is a connector for SIM-card and the battery compartment with the battery capacity of 930 mA•h, so that most users will charge the phone once every three days.
User Interface and Features
User Interface of C902i can take the form of the classic 3×4 matrix, a rotating three-dimensional ring of icons or just a single icon on the display, corresponding to a menu item.
In addition, the manufacturer has provided five different animated themes, some of which have their own set of icons, so that everyone can change the unit accotding to his/her test.
Separately, it is necessary to note the excellent animated graphics, tastefully chosen mix of colors, the presence of reflections that make the picture plausible, and a smooth change of brightness, which shows the detailed design of the program.
In general settings are similar to other contemporary models, and opportunities presented to standard office packages, stylish and convenient address book, where you can save any information about the subscriber, including his/her photo. Numbers stored for each subscriber’s phone, both urban and mobile, are divided into home and work, and the choice of the right of them is implemented scrolling list with the joystick pointing the cursor to the name of the subscriber.
C902i has the full range of communication capabilities, including GSM 850/900/1800/1900/2100 networks and 3G (for which there is an additional camera with the flash on the front panel), transfer files to GPRS/EDGE, as well as via Bluetooth 2.0.
If you prefer the phone can be quite loud – this applies both to external dynamics, and dynamics for the tapping. You do not even hint at the distortion of sound.
Camera
Of course the phone from Cyber-shot family has a 5-MP camera, with autofocus, but without xenon and LED.
Configuration and capabilities of the camera are the best. Seven preset shooting options (landscape, sport, instrument, etc.) and white balance, and the possibility of an overlay of digital effects and other important options are present in the phone.
In addition, C902i can automatically detect a person when shooting, focusing on them, shoot at makromode or focusing to infinity. The camera can even automatically create a panoramic view of the received images, made in a special shooting mode.
Maximum image resolution is 2592×1944 pixels, the size of the pictures may vary from about 600 Kb to 1.5 Mb.
Some of the brand features: you can put on pictures geonotes, however, unlike the model C702i, this device is responsible for determining the location is not GPS-receiver, and the surrounding base stations. In other words, BC is defined by the location of the phone. Accuracy of the definition is not always the best, but the fact that you will be able to show on a map where the picture was taken is very important.
The camera is equipped with a 16-fold digital zoom. But if you need something urgently to see at a distance, this thing can be very useful.
Conclusions
Sony Ericsson C902i is a stylish device, which is created for those who are willing to apart with a decent amount to buy the phone. For a certain amount of money you get a nice shell, the filling function, convenient interface and a 5 MP camera with the largest number of settings. However, the quality of photos is not 100%. On the other hand, if over time the price drops a bit, C902i will become a very beneficial purchase.
