The company of rounded sliders has been supplemented by an additional member. It is Sony Ericsson c903, a very accurate telephone, with pleasant design, and with 5MP camera on top of these. The novelty is not revolutionary, but it causes definite interest. Let us examine it more closely.
Design
At first sight Sony Ericsson c903 is a usual slider. The apparatus is represented in white color in combination with lilac. Have you ever seen such phones? Probably, not. An amusing element is the protective shutter of the camera. It not only closes the camera but “slides” across the back side. Looks fun.
Another element is corrugated surface on the back of the slider. To the decorations also we can add the insertion of metal, “spread” all over the shell. In general, Sony Ericsson C903 looks pleasant with prepossess appearance. We will not say anything bad about the quality of the assembly. However, the back cover was hard and with such a crash that scared of the latch.
The universal connector is located on the left end, a single 3.5-mm connector is not a musical (it is only in W995), and therefore, the headphone connector will at least interfere in your pocket.
The camera button, volume swings, camera swings and photo gallery has been placed in the right end.
Display and keyboard
The screen of C903 is 2.4-inch, which is already familiar from the previous models. However, the display is good, bright color passes accurate and has great viewing angles. Through the illumination of the sensor (located on the left side of the conversational speakers), the brightness of the display is automatically regulated by a small band, which provides some energy savings.
Touch control buttons are well expressed and speaking in plain language – grope easy, convenient to work with them as owners of heroic palms, and delicate girls. For example, two contextual buttons “receive” and “off”, as well as the central navigation button is raised above the surface of the front panel.
Regarding the dialing, there isn’t any problem with fast dial or SMS. However, those who quickly get accustomed to the new cell phone, certainly, will not have any problems.
Menu and Functions
The menu is the same as with all relatively new Sony Ericcsons, without any changes. We have nothing to say about menu. However, we think that developers needed to change something, for example add new features, but there are no differences.
Call Tones ring loudly in the streets and in public transport, the phone is well heard. But the vibration is very weak.
Positioning can be carried out both in BC, and with the help of GPS-receiver. Again, nothing new, but there is the existence of the latter pleases. Among navigation applications are Google Maps and Wayfinder Navigator. Well, about the sensitivity of GPS-receiver, one can say that it is lower than that of WM-communicators.
Games are amusing (Treasure Tower and Bubble Town).
Music
Playback volume is not very high, for example, in the subway sometimes it is not enough. Preset equalizers are only four jokes, but you can manually adjust the sound to your own taste. There is an expanded stereo mode, but it is better not to turn on.
With regard to design of the player, it is old-fashioned, as once it was in great phone K850i. A breakdown of the content is easy, without any problems.
The icon of FM-tuner is included in the main menu, as radio is a quite popular application. Like MP3-player, radio interface, is very familiar from previous models. The city functions “autosearch” can be trusted to score 20 memory locations, if you’re on the countryside, it is better to enter the frequency manually.
Camera
Sony Ericsson C903 is a series of Cyber-shot. As we already know, the camera switches after opening the lid and on the sides of the lens, with blue decorative LEDs.
The manufacturer and the model have advanced Smile Shutter function, i.e. smile recognition. In fact, you are not to smile in a frame to the camera. When automation catches the subject a yellow box appears around the face. There is also a mode detection which works on the same principle. There are regimes of infinity, macro, and automatic.
Settings of images are sufficient for both the ordinary and the advanced shooting. Someone will have to rely on its strength and skill, and somebody, for example, use one of the six (could be more) pre-scenes.
The browser of photographs and other graphics, as in previous models, is in style a la PSP, can change its orientation (vertical / horizontal), depending on how you hold the phone. There is a breakdown by month; you can run a slideshow of different music with various special effects. Looks nice!
Conclusions
A little downloading (only 15 minutes a day devoted to talks), which includes the camera, a rare GPS-navigation, 30-minute listening to the player at full volume, frequent digging in the menu, the apparatus worked for three days.
In general, the buyers will like it, mainly because of attractive appearance and ease of administration. We haven’t seen something fundamentally new in it. Another drawback may be the price, which against the backdrop of a lack of technological innovation in the C903, seems excessive.
